Many Massachusetts residents know and love actress Holly Marie Combs and her work. She is perhaps best known for her role in the long-running series "Charmed." It now appears that the actress is filing for divorce from her husband, after the marriage turned out to be less than her show's namesake.
Combs, who is 37 now, has been married to her husband for seven years. The couple has three children, ages 7, 5 and 2. Combs, who listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, is seeking joint custody of the couple's children. No other information has been released concerning the filing or the couple's plans for the future.
The couple does not have a prenuptial agreement, which could end up costing the actress a lot of money, as "Charmed" was a successful television show.
While gossip always swirls around celebrity marriages, the hard truth is that many non-famous couples also face divorce, and in many cases famous and non-famous couples face the same struggles in trying to make a marriage last. And for everyone, the issues surrounding a split can seem overwhelming and confusing. This can be especially true when there are children involved in the marriage, and when issues such as child custody, child support or visitation rights are part of the filing.
For many people a divorce can be the best option when a relationship is simply not going to work out. Massachusetts divorce law can seem confusing at times, and for this reason many of those wanting a divorce will seek professional legal advice before and during their filing. While divorce is often considered the last resort, it is often the only resort for some couples who want to have a fresh start.
