What are best interests of a child in custody determinations?

Regardless of how much a parent loves his or her child, sometimes it is in a family’s best interest for the parents to get a divorce. This is not a reflection of parenting skills.Instead, it is a testament to the fact that parents are committed to providing the best living environment for their children. Since there are many concerned parents out there in Springfield and the surrounding area, many parents have questions about a child’s ‘best interests’ in a divorce. What are these best interests, exactly?

Late-life divorce is not cause to give up on retirement plans

If you have been married for several or dozens of years, most couples have discussed retirement at some point or another. The ideal goal for most married couples is to retire at a certain point in time. But what if your marriage is not going to make it to that time, and it is approaching closer every day? Some who are soon-to-be divorced may think they have to kiss their retirement plans good-bye, but this is not necessarily true.

No one has the right to obstruct a MA child custody arrangement

In instances of split custody or visitation, some parents have been known to make disallowed modification to a given court order. This can come in many forms, but the most severe is when one parent bars the other from visitation as stipulated in the child custody order. This is unfortunate news, especially for the parent on the receiving end of this action. For those in this situation it is important to understand that no one has the right to prevent you abiding by a court ordered custody arrangement without a court ordered modification.
